TPN 300 - Physio-Med - transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation - for drug free pain relief
TENS is a small electronic device which is both compact and simple to use. A small electrical pulse passes from the TENS unit to the electrodes which are usually placed either side of the painful area. The electrical pulse stops the transmission of pain signals from the site reaching the brain, which created a pain block. This non-invasive method is quite safe to use whilst taking other drugs or medication. However, even though there are no known side effects, patients with cardiac pacemakers must not use TENS. It is also recommended that TENS devices are not used near eyes or front of neck area. Before using the TENS unit it is recommended that the patient instruction manual is read thoroughly. Supplied with all accessories and full instructions.
